Adding Bluetooth capabilities to your Sony laptop is as simple as adding a printer or any other hardware. Several micro Bluetooth adapters are available that do not require disassembling your computer to change the internal hardware. This miniature Bluetooth appliance plugs into any available USB port and is small enough to leave in permanently, even when you place your laptop in a tight-fitting case or sleeve. Follow all instructions for your Bluetooth device's setup carefully to ensure proper installation of the software.

Close out of any programs you are running on your computer. Plug into an outlet or make sure you have plenty of battery power remaining.
Insert the driver CD into your laptop's CD or DVD drive. If it does not run automatically, click "Start," then "Computer" and double-click on your CD/DVD drive, then double-click the "Setup.exe" file.
Follow the software installation wizard's on-screen prompts to set up and confirm installation. You will most likely need to accept a licensing agreement as part of this process. Once you begin the setup, do not interrupt the process.
Insert the Bluetooth micro adapter into a USB port when prompted and continue the installation process. Your laptop may take some time to recognize the new hardware and install the correct drivers. Use a USB port that you don't generally use for other purposes if you plan to leave the adapter plugged in.
Double-click the Bluetooth icon in your system notification area (the lower left corner of your desktop) once the installation is complete. This will launch the configuration wizard, which will allow you to change your Bluetooth settings.
Follow the on-screen prompts to configure your Bluetooth device. Leave the default settings in place if you are unsure of what you need.
Pair your computer with any Bluetooth devices within range by following the on-screen prompts to recognize and connect with these devices, such as a mouse or keyboard. Devices must be on for the adapter to recognize them.
