Octaswitch & FX loop

Post  nbroberts on Tue Oct 27, 2009 2:55 pm

Hi!
Would I be able to use the Octaswitch in conjunction with my amps FX loop?
For example....my delay is in the amps FX loop and my od/distortion is in front of the amp. If the delay/FX loop connection is made within the Octaswitch will I still be able to control this loop like the other loops? IE turn the delay/FX loop off and on as part of a combination of other FX?

Thanks for your help.

Pedals where never made for loops.
A real effects loop is running at line levels, and parallel for the purest signal.
Pedals are seriel, unless you use a twochannel amp, nothing is gained by using a loop.
Unless you use parallel effects, meaning mostly 19" rack stuff with a linemixer to control the mix of one or more effects.

Octaswitch & FX loop

Post  nbroberts on Wed Oct 28, 2009 12:22 pm

Sorry I haven't made myself very clear Very Happy

All my pedals and the Octaswitch would be going into the front of my amp as per standard practise. My (as it happens rack mounted) delay is the only effect in the amps FX loop.

So the question still stands - can I use the Octaswitch to control the delay in the amps FX loop as well as the pedals going into the front of the amp.

Many thanks

There is still a conflict of seriel and parallel signals.
If the loop is parallel, as they usually are.
