Lenovo Laptop Keyboard Should Be Cleaned Regularly
With constant use and accumulated dirt, your Lenovo laptop keyboard may appear grimy. This may not only have an bad effect on the look, but its function as well. The Lenovo Laptop keyboard should be cleaned regularly to avoid this situation. There are several steps that you should follow.
1. Disassemble the Lenovo Laptop keyboard. Usually keyboards are locked with screws at the four sides. Do not force it by your hands. Use a screw driver. Before removing the keys, draw a map where the keys were placed to avoid misunderstandings while returning back the keys.
2. Clean the base of your Lenovo laptop keyboard. Try cleaning it with a soft cloth. Slightly damp the material into water until it reaches moist texture. Gently wipe the base. This will remove water-base residues such as soda drinks and chocolate drinks. After using water, repeat the same procedure using alcohol and cleaning solution.
3. Degrease the keys. One of the reasons why keys accumulate a lot of dirt is because of the greasy texture. The greasier it becomes, the more dirt it accumulates. Be sure that you brush the inner part of the keys. Rinse and let it dry.
4. Get rid of dirt from rubber components. The same procedure on degreasing the keys. But be more careful on handling the components. Unlike the keys, rubber components are smaller and lighter.
5. Put lubricant on the keyboard and its keys. Using cotton swab, gently apply it on the components. Too much lubricant may cause more accumulation of dirt. But be sure that you do this procedure from all corners of the keys. Then, let it dry.
6. Re-set up the keyboard. Reverse the first procedure. Use the map you made. Before closing it, try if all the keys bounce back after you press them to test if you placed the rubber components properly. If everything works well, screw it properly.
